December KAL

Here is my dishcloth from my Yahoo Monthly Dishcloth KAL. It is a rocking horse. It took until the last day to figure out what it was. It came out nice.

The card is here

Well here is our family christmas card for this year. I borrowed my husband's cousins digital and took the picture at home and then went to Walmart and put the memory card and presto. How easy that was instead of taking a whole roll of film then developing it then picking one out and then making the card. We are definately getting a digital next year. I love the card too. Of course it has Mickey and Minnie on it.

Another dishcloth

I want to wish my little girl Elizabeth Happy First Birthday today. I can't believe she's one already. Seems just last week even last night I had her. They grow up so fast. When I get the kids Christmas picture done next week I will post that when it comes in. Everyone is getting very big, very quick. Well here we are with another dishcloth. It's from the monthly dishcloth knit-a-long I belong to. It's a pointsetta. It was the first time I did a bobble. Wasn't as hard as I thought. Took at least three days to figure out what it was. Came out really nice.

Mason-Dixon ballband

I absolutely love this pattern. So easy yet looks so hard. I brought some of my dishcloths to my knitting group that meets that the local library (nice bunch of ladies) and one new woman kept telling me how lovely they were and what a talented knitter I was. Kind of made me feel proud. I didn't think I was all that good but she made me feel that way. Well here's a picture of the latest creation. I used Pe Peaches n' Cream Faded Glory and Ecru.

Yes I am still here

Hello. Yes I am still here. I haven't posted in a month but have been very busy. I finished five out of the six dishcloths I am knitting for Christopher and Nicholas' teacher for Christmas. I am also going to give a kitchen soap to go with them. I finished Elizabeth's sweater (well I have to block it and then seam it) and I finished a felted box but not yet felted. It was fairly easy. Once I sat down and knit it. Probably only took me four days to do the big one (it's from the Mason-Dixon book). I think I will do some for my mom for Christmas too. She's redoing a room in her house and I think they will look nice in there. Just have to buy my yarn for it. Oh and here's my latest dishcloth from the monthly dishcloth knit-a-long. It's a turkey.

Oh yeah. My Elizabeth is going to be a year old in a week. She's starting to cruize and yesterday started to stand up in the middle of the room for about 10 seconds. She's getting so big so fast. Christopher and Nicholas are 1/2 way through their school year. Have conferences next week. Christopher received his report card on Thursday, he did very well. Nicholas being in Kindergarten doesn't get a report card until January I think. Oh well. Talk to you soon. As soon as I get pictures of my projects I will post them.

Happy Knitting.

Let me introduce myself

My name is Laura. I live in Connecticut with my husband Michael and three beautiful children, Christopher 7, Nicholas 5 and Elizabeth 10 1/2 months. This picture was our Christmas card for 2005.

I have been knitting for approximately eight years. I started when I was pregnant with my first child because I wanted to knit a blanket. So me and my best friend took a knitting class at the local YMCA and the rest is history. I did mostly blankets, some scarves, a sweater for my second son and socks I learned to do two years ago which are really fun.

I also love Disney. I have been to Walt Disney World only a hand full of times. The last trip was two years ago with the kids and my husband. It was fun. Our trip will be when the baby is five (fours more years but who's counting).

In early September I joined a monthly dishscloth KAL group. The KALS start on the 1st of every month and then another one on the 16th of every month. The moderators email you six or so rows a day and then after the end of the week you have a lovely dishcloth. The beginning of the month dishcloth is a picture and the mid month one is a new pattern. I like them both but I particularly like the pattern one because I learn a new stitch. I have been a knit and purl kind of gal so this was challenging for me at first but loved it as the week went on.

This picture is of the Oct KAL. It's a cat. Of course for Halloween.

That's it it for today. I have to get Nicholas off the bus from school.

Happy Knitting to all.

Now what?

Ok I finally decided to do this blog but now I have to figure out how to put stuff on it, add things and such.
