We woke up early on Sunday, November 28th at 4:30 a.m. as our flight was at 8:42 a.m. and we have an hour drive to the airport and you have to be there 2 hours before the flight. Everyone got up great and we got dressed as Daddy packed the car. It was chilly outside but we were on our way to sunny Florida so we didn't care.
Here are the kids outside our house (the photo was taken at 5:25 a.m.)
The kids ended up falling back to sleep in the car which was a good thing because it was going to be a long day for all of us.
We arrived at the airport (Bradley International Airport, in Hartford, CT) and parked our car at the long term parking lot and got a shuttle to the airport fairly quickly. We went in to get our boarding passes and there was no line (yippee). The gentleman took our luggage and we headed to go through security. I was getting anxious about the flight as I haven't been on a plane in 13 years but as soon as we got through security and sat down to eat breakfast at McDonald's I was becoming a little more relaxed.
While waiting for the plane to board Michael took pictures of our plane.
We boarded right on time and soon were buckled and ready to depart. Here is when I lost it. I got very nervous and usually I have Michael hold my hand while we take off and land but he was in front of me with Christopher and Nicholas and Elizabeth were sitting next to me and Nicholas wouldn't hold my hand and I didn't want to tell him why as I didn't want him nervous. Michael turned around and asked if I was ok my eyes welled up and I told him I was scared (I mouthed it) but he didn't understand me so I told him everything was fine (which was a lie). Once in the air I was much much better. Here are some shots Michael took in the airplane.
We landed in Orlando a half hour early which was nice because Elizabeth was getting restless.
Here we are on the monorail. We all took off our coats because it was warm in the airport.
We didn't have to worry about our luggage because Disney Magical Express was taking care of that for us - so first a bathroom visit and then here
I made Michael take pictures of the sign of the line we needed to go in. These lines were nuts! Thank goodness our line was short and we were soon on our bus to Fort Wilderness.
We made one stop before Fort Wilderness and when we were on the bus the people we were renting the camper from called and said he was setting up and should be done in an hour and I told him we were on our way. He told our site # which was 101.
We arrived at Fort Wilderness and I went in to check us in and get our map of the resort and park cards and so forth.
Here is a fireplace where you check in and get our site, Chip and Dale's stockings hanging on them, so cute.
While I was checking in Michael went outside with the kids and snapped some pictures (he knows I like taking pictures of flowers so he did that for me)
And of course the kids in front of a wreath (remember that hoodie Nicholas is holding there's a story with it later)
Then Elizabeth wanted to take our picture in front the wreath
We then start walking to the bus stop for a van to take us to our site and a guy says, I'll be right there! Soon we were in our little white van to our site. We were with another family who were staying in a cabin. They got dropped off first then us. We found out that the driver knew a little about Connecticut because he went to school in Hartford!
